As of December, the automaker’s factory in Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo, will produce the Polo Track, a new hatchback as the cheapest model in the portfolio.
After 42 years of the model in the portfolio of the Brazilian operation, the automaker Volkswagen announced this Friday, the 11th, the retirement of GoalBrazil’s best-selling car for years on end, and the production date of the vehicle that will replace the Gol in the automaker’s entry-level category.
How will Gol’s farewell be?
The Gol is the most produced, most sold and most exported model in the history of the national market. To honor the farewell of the vehicle, Volkswagen announces the arrival of the Gol Last Edition. Numbered and limited to 1,000 units, the version was specially developed by the Volkswagen do Brasil Design team, headed by the head of Volkswagen design in South America, José Carlos Pavone.
And the novelty should cost more than R$ 120 thousand – that is, more than the T-Cross SUV.

What will be the advantages of Polo Track?
The new model will feature robustness and durability to run on roads in various states of conservation, according to the automaker. Some of the highlights of the new model:

- Five-speed manual transmission
- 2.56 meters of wheelbase and 1.75 meters of width
- Luggage compartment with a capacity of 300 liters
- Four air bags, two front and two side in the front seats
- Hill Hold Control – Hill start assistant
- Electronic stability control (ESC)
- Top tether for child seat attachment
- Seat belt fastening alert for all positions
- Electronic differential lock (XDS+)
- Air conditioning with dust and pollen filter

What has changed on the production line
The Volkswagen factory in Taubaté prepared to receive the manufacturing of the New Polo Track. The model is part of the R$7 billion investment package defined by the company until 2026 in Latin America and is the first of a family of compact vehicles in the entry-level segment.
Part of this amount is already being applied to the factory in the Vale do Paraíba region. From now on, all Volkswagen plants in South America are prepared to produce cars based on the MQB matrix.
About 80 new robots were acquired at Armação, which reflected a 33% increase in production capacity.
