Startup needs to draw small companies to the digital world of the metaverse

Metaverse allows users to work, meet and play in 3D environments.

The buzzword right now in the tech industry is: metaverse. Meta comes from the Greek “beyond”, that which “transcends”, and verse is the universe as an environment, and links the real to the digital, through technologies such as virtual or augmented reality.

The metaverse allows users to work, meet, play and socialize in 3D environments and have real experiences.

Now, a São Paulo startup is creating an entire city in the metaverse to attract small businesses. It’s a new form of business and it’s already online.

Entrepreneurs Jonas Davanço, Gibran Sirena and Gabriel Saito are building an entire city in the metaverse. They rent out virtual land to small businesses. And in this new market, a rental can reach millions of dollars, just because of the proximity to high-profile virtual real estate.

But at startup, prices are much more affordable. At least for now: R$ 500 monthly for a plot of land. The construction of a building costs R$ 25 thousand.
