“The jobs created in Brazil show a 41% reduction when compared to the monthly average of the last 5 months, but despite this drop, all these numbers are in line with the drop in the unemployment rate provided by the IBGE. Currently, that rate stands at 8.3%. In January of that year, it was 11.2%. A considerable decrease of almost 3 percentage points, with small businesses being largely responsible for this reduction and showing that they are essential for the Brazilian economy”, emphasizes the president of Sebrae, Carlos Melles.
In the accumulated of 2022, Brazil already accumulates 2.320 million new jobs. Micro and small companies were the main job generators with 1.661 million (71.6%) new hires. The participation of medium and large companies in the generation of jobs is 22% with 513 thousand hires.
“The comparison of 2021 with 2022 shows practically identical scenarios. Analyzing only MPE and MGE, it is observed, in both periods, micro and small companies being responsible for approximately 77% of the new jobs created”, points out the president of Sebrae.
