Resetting the servers of 5% may not come out. Understand the comings and goings

In yet another twist on the readjustment of the civil service, President Jair Bolsonaro evaluates not to give another linear increase of 5% for federal servants, according to government officials. As an alternative, the president asked executive technicians to prepare an increase of more than R$600 in the food stamps for all federal government employees.

11/16/2021 – Promise: On a trip to Doha, Qatar, Bolsonaro says that the approval of the PEC of Precatórios, which would open space in the 2022 Budget, would allow the government to give a salary readjustment to all federal civil servants. At the time, he did not explain how much the increase would be.

12/21/2021 – Restricted readjustment: With no room for a broad increase, Bolsonaro works to get Congress to approve the 2022 Budget with R$ 1.7 billion intended for a salary readjustment restricted to servers of the Federal Police, Federal Highway Police, Depen and Ministry of Justice.

01/20/2022 – Step back: Faced with the mobilization of other careers in the civil service in the face of the possibility of only police officers receiving a raise, Bolsonaro starts to question the fulfillment of the promise. In an interview with Joven Pan, he says that the readjustment for police officers was suspended.

04/13/2022 – Linear increase: Bolsonaro decides to give a 5% linear increase to all servers, both civilian and military. Representatives of federal police categories, however, complain of having been deceived by the president and demand a greater readjustment.

05/31/2022 – Food vouchers: Servers are dissatisfied with signaling a linear adjustment of 5%, before the increase is made official by the government. With little room in the Budget, Bolsonaro then returns to discussing the possibility of readjusting the food stamps, benefiting only active servers.
