After Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, the Brazilian unicorn continues to bet on e-commerce in Latin America
THE Cloudshopthe leading e-commerce platform in Latin America, announces this Tuesday, the 22nd, its arrival at Colombia with an investment of more than BRL 53 million. With the move, the company aims to achieve 10 thousand customers in the country by 2024.
With more than 100,000 stores, Nuvemshop integrates products, payments, shipping and provides an ecosystem with more than 1,000 partners, such as Facebook, Instagram, marketplaces and physical stores.
With headquarters already established in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, Nuvemshop arrives in the South American country after carrying out one of the largest rounds of investment in startups in history in 2021, when it became a unicorn and raised BRL 2.6 billion in Series E .
The new branch is part of Nuvemshop’s regional expansion plan, which seeks to reduce the barriers that small and medium enterprises face when undertaking and consolidating their business in the digital environment.
“As we already do in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, we will work side by side with local partners and Colombian startups that offer the best integrations for businesses of all sizes in the country, with the aim of meeting the needs of Colombian entrepreneurs and continuing to expanding our Latin American e-commerce ecosystem,” says Alejandro Vázquez, CCO and co-founder of Nuvemshop.

In 2021, online sales in Colombia grew by 40%, reaching around BRL 42 million at current prices, the highest figure in the last six years, according to data from BlackSip and Cámara Colombiana de Comercio Electrônico.
“Colombia is a country with more than 50 million inhabitants and one of the countries with the most entrepreneurs in the entire Latin American region, so it is a great opportunity for us to help thousands of SMEs to offer their products and services on their own website, in a agile, simple and accessible”, says the executive.
The scenario makes it clear that SMEs have a favorable perspective to expand their business in the country through technological solutions such as those offered by Nuvemshop.
In addition, Colombia is in third place in the fintech market, after Brazil and Mexico, in addition to being the third with the most online sales in Latin America, according to a report by the Inter-American Development Bank in conjunction with Finnovista.
