Now it is them: free occasion discusses the position of ladies in enterprise

Meeting will bring together great leaders in virtual and free panels to celebrate the World Day of Female Entrepreneurship. The objective is to encourage other women; see how to participate

In addition to commonly facing issues such as invisibility and salary inequality, another challenge is usually part of the female work routine: the double shift. This is because, historically, they are the main responsible for the so-called “invisible jobs”, such as taking care of the children or the house. To give you an idea, a recent study pointed out that, while men don’t spend even 12 hours a week on these tasks, they usually dedicate more than 21 hours a week to housework – a mission that has become even more challenging during the pandemic.

According to a study by Linkedin, it was precisely this situation (and the consequent search for a more flexible and autonomous routine than that offered by employers) that motivated most professionals to embark on the entrepreneurship universe in the last two years. According to data released by the platform, driven by these challenges, the number of female entrepreneurs in the country grew by 41% in 2020, the most critical period of the pandemic, compared to a rise of only 22% among men.

Despite the evolution, it is worth noting that the women still represent only 34% of the total number of entrepreneurs in Brazilaccording to a study by Sebrae based on data from the IBGE’s Continuous National Household Sample Survey.

How to foster female entrepreneurship?

With the aim of encouraging, recognizing and valuing female leadership in the business field, the UN created, in 2014, the World Day of Female Entrepreneurship, celebrated annually on November 19. To commemorate the date, EXAME joined forces with Aladas, a platform of free digital courses that aims to encourage, train and support the development of women entrepreneurs. From the partnership, the event was born Now it’s them – which reaches its second edition on the 17th.

Presented remotely, the meeting aims to shed light on important issues for the process of female empowerment in the business world, such as career, finance, innovation, technology, motherhood, mental health, sexuality, intersectionality and aging.

For this, it will bring together big names in the female entrepreneurship (such as Adriana Barbosa, founder of Feira Preta and CEO of PretaHub; and Traaudi Guida, founder of Le Lis Blanc) in virtual debate panels. The idea is to provide a space for exchanging tips and experiences with other women.

To follow the panels, simply subscribe to the event official website. The inscription is 100% free and represents a unique opportunity for women who dream of leveraging their businesses this year.
