Launch for 5G in Belo Horizonte, João Pessoa and Porto Alegre is authorized

The forecast is that 5G will be activated from Friday, 29, in these cities

The group that accompanies the cleaning of tracks for the activation of the 5G in the Country confirmed this Wednesday, 27, the approval for connection of the signal in the capitals João Pessoa (PB), Porto Alegre (RS) and Belo Horizonte (MG). As the Broadcast showed on Monday 25th, the forecast is that 5G will be activated from Friday 29th in these cities.

“It was deliberate and approved the release to connect the 3.5 GHz band in three capitals: Belo Horizonte, João Pessoa and Porto Alegre. As of tomorrow, the signals will be emitted, and as of Friday they will be able to turn on the signals”, said counselor Moisés Moreira, from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), president of the group that oversees the cleaning of lanes.

The three capitals mark the second stage of 5G release, after the debut in Brasília. The activation of the technology in the capitals was originally scheduled to take place until July 31, but the group asked for an extension for another 60 days – as provided for in the auction notice for the bands – because of the slow arrival of filters imported from China. Now, all capitals must have the signal turned on by the end of September.
