O NC Groupconglomerate of 25 companies and controller of EMSannounces that it has completed the purchase of the companies Imperial Group, Kosei and International Trading Company – KSK, which belong to the Japanese holding company Taisho Farmacêutica. By acquiring these companies, the Brazilian group enters the Mexican market and reinforces its presence on the international scene.
The acquisition also includes the incorporation of the industrial complex, located in Mexico City, and of the entire product portfolio, which includes, for the most part, OTCs – an acronym in English for over-the-counter medicines –, with successful brands among the Mexican public, such as adult and baby Vitacilin (antiseptic ointment), Derman (antifungal dermatological cream) and Rocainol balm (analgesic and anti-inflammatory ointment). The products are also marketed in the United States.
According to Grupo NC, the objective of the acquisition is to promote investments to continue growing, given that Mexico is a relevant and strategic country for the economy of Latin America. With great know-how in the pharmaceutical sector, the NC Group is among the largest business conglomerates in Brazil, where it has been operating for over 58 years and occupies the leadership of the sector.
