The funds will be used to capitalize the Empresa Brasileira de Participações em Energia Nuclear
The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic reported this Tuesday that President Jair Bolsonaro sent the National Congress bill that provides for the opening of a special credit to the Federal Fiscal Budget of R$ 1.2 billion in favor of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).
The funds will be used to capitalize Empresa Brasileira de Participações in Nuclear energy and Binacional SA, created to be the parent company of Itaipu Binacional and Eletrobras Termonuclear SA
“The Bill aims to make possible the inclusion of the program ’00SC – Participation of the Union in the Capital of Empresa Brasileira de Participações em Energia Nuclear e Binacional SA’, within the scope of the Direct Administration of that body, in order to enable the initial capitalization of the new company, which is a state-owned company created with the purpose of being the controller of the companies Itaipu Binacional and the Eletrobrás Termonuclear SA”, says the folder in a note.
According to the General Secretariat, the project “does not affect the primary result targets, since there will be a reallocation between mandatory primary expenditures, not changing their amount for the current year” and “it is compatible with the ‘Golden Rule’ and the ‘New Tax Regime’”.
