The 15th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (SGE) is approaching, scheduled to take place from November 14th to 20th and is considered the largest event dedicated to entrepreneurs in more than 180 connected countries around the world. In Brazil, the expectation is to mobilize the entire country with an extensive program throughout the month. To participate, simply register on the official SGE page at: www.empresa.org.br.
Until Thursday (11/10), the SGE platform already had 2,123 registered activities, including lectures, workshops and meetings – both virtual and in person – in 655 Brazilian cities from North to South, with an estimated public of approximately 142 thousand people.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is coordinated in Brazil by Sebrae, alongside partners that also make up the SGE Advisory Board in the country and are references of the Brazilian entrepreneurial ecosystem: Aliança Empreendedora, Anjos do Brasil, Anprotec, Artemisia, Brasil Júnior, Conaje, Endeavor, Junior Achievement and Rede Mulher Empreendedora.
This year, SGE brings the theme of entrepreneurship as a tool for the inclusion of groups most impacted by the economic crisis, especially women. The choice of topic was based on the results of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) survey, a world reference on entrepreneurship.
A study carried out by Sebrae based on GEM data in the years 2018 and 2021 shows that the Covid-19 pandemic and the crisis that hit the Brazilian economy increased inequalities between men and women in entrepreneurial activity. In addition to a greater proportion of the female public having been pushed out of entrepreneurship, the survey shows that women entrepreneurs who remained with their businesses in operation had more severe economic losses.
Sebrae Business Woman Award
As part of the SGE 2022 program, the grand final of the Sebrae Business Woman Award will also be held on November 23. The award is made up of the Small Business, Rural Producer and Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) categories. The ceremony will be held in Brasília, with online transmission throughout Brazil.
