The indebtedness of Brazilian families to the financial system closed March at 52.7%, same percentage of February. If real estate debts are discounted, the indebtedness stood at 33.2% in the third month of the year, compared to 33.1% in the previous month. In January, the percentages were 52.8% and 33.2%, respectively.
According to the BC, the commitment of families’ income to the National Financial System (SFN) ended March at 27.7%, compared to 27.9% in February and 28.5% in January. Discounting real estate loans, the commitment to income was 25.6% in the third month of the year, compared to 25.8% in the previous month and 26.2% in January.
After the end of the strike by BC civil servants, at the beginning of the month, the agency started today to update credit statistics, with data from March and April. But the information remains outdated, since, at this point, statistics should already be available by June. According to the head of the BC Statistics Department, Fernando Rocha, the expectation is that the data for the fifth and sixth months will be published in August.
