A survey carried out by the e-commerce company Nuvemshop points out that about 60% of the merchants on the platform are concerned about selling little during the next Black Friday, an annual event of promotions that takes place in just under three months.
In addition, sellers are wary of compromising profit margins with the discounts offered, and they are also wary of facing a shortage of inventories.
On the other hand, only a third of shopkeepers say they are ready or quite prepared for the date.
Amid so much uncertainty, almost half of the merchants surveyed by the company said they expect 30% growth in November sales compared to October.
Black Friday, which will take place on November 25, is an annual event that moves the retail sector with discounts and exclusive offers.
There is no set time for the start of the promotions, so stores and companies can extend the date to a period of a week or even a month, turning the occasion into ‘Black Week’ and ‘Black November’, respectively.
Cloudshop is an e-commerce platform for entrepreneurs and SMEs that allows the creation of an online store to sell products without intermediaries.
