Elon Musk wants to turn Twitter into a paid service for governments and companies
The plan would be a way to increase revenue for the struggling social network
Elon Musk, the new owner of twittersaid this week that Twitter may charge a “light” fee to commercial and government users as part of the billionaire’s effort to increase revenue from the social network he is buying.
“Twitter will always be free for casual users, but perhaps at a small cost for commercial/government users,” Musk said, of course, in a tweet.
“Some recipe is better than none!” she added.
Race for monetization
Musk is committed to making Twitter more profitable. Last week, the The Verge reported that, to banks, Musk has assured that he will create ways for certain users to pay for tweets and that he will cut executive pay to reduce the company’s costs.
To carry out the plan, Musk must bet on Twitter Blue, including price reduction, advertising ban and payment option in the dogecoin cryptocurrency.
