From January to May, the balance was the creation of 1 million jobs
After the creation of 197,443 jobs in April (with adjustment), the job creation accelerated and recorded a positive balance of 277,018 jobs with formal contracts in May, according to data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (caged) released this Tuesday, 28, by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The financial market expected a slowdown in the pace of opening of formal jobs in May, but the result came above the median of the survey by Projections Broadcast, of 181,250 jobs. Estimates ranged from 80,000 to 282,416 jobs created.
Balance of 1 million jobs in 2022
In May 2021, 266,224 jobs were opened with a formal contract. Last month’s result was 1,960,960 admissions and 1,683,942 dismissals. In the first five months of 2022, the Caged balance is already positive in 1,051,503 vacancies.
The net opening of 277,018 job vacancies with a formal contract in May at Caged was again driven by the performance of the service sector in the month, with the creation of 120,294 formal jobs, followed by commerce, which opened 47,557 jobs.
The general industry, on the other hand, created 46,975 formal jobs in May, while there was a balance of 35,445 construction contracts. In agriculture, the balance was positive in 26,747 jobs in the month.
Positive result in Caged
In the fifth month of the year, the 27 Federation Units registered positive result in Caged. The best performance was recorded again in São Paulo, with the opening of 85,659 jobs.
Average admission salary
The average salary for admission to formal jobs reached BRL 1,898.02 in Maya real drop of R$ 18.05.
