A survey of 2,000 developers who use the Copilot tool revealed a performance gain in the daily lives of professionals
In 2021, the source code hosting platform GitHub provided a preview of the copilotan artificial intelligence tool that, when connected to the professional’s programming editor, offers assertive code suggestions, as if it were an autocomplete on the smartphone’s typist.
Since then, the resource has not only been popular with code writers, but has also proved to be an excellent co-worker.
This is what a survey recently released by GitHub shows, which consulted 2,000 programmers, and obtained data that show that more than 60% of them had a high productivity increase when using Copilot.
With the survey validating the tool and indicating that AI can help developers be more productive while programming, GitHub Copilot was made available to the entire platform community and can be installed via the link.
With wider adoption, it will be possible to measure in more detail when AI proves to be a good advisor and even create more attributions for it.
