Celso Ferrer, current COO, will assume the airline’s CEO chair on July 1. Paulo Kakinoff will join the Board of Directors
After ten years, Paulo Kakinoff will leave the command of Gol Linhas Aéreas. According to a statement sent to the market on Monday, 16th, Celso Ferrer, current director of operations, will assume the CEO chair of the airline on July 1st. Kakinoff will then join the company’s Board of Directors.
Ferrer is an economist, is 39 years old and joined Gol in 2004 as an intern. Since 2019, the executive has led the Operations, Operational Safety, Airports, Planning, Network, Supplies and Fleet areas. Previously, he served as Vice President of Planning for five years. He is also an experienced airline pilot and is part of GOL’s crew of the Boeing 737 fleet.
Among the executive’s focuses will be the company’s digital transformation, acceleration of the fleet renewal process, new services, sustainability and expansion of the airline’s network, which currently has 14,000 employees.
According to the statement, Kakinoff’s succession has been in the works for about three years. “It is a privileged succession process, with the transition being closely monitored by me, Chairman and founder, by GOL’s People Management and Governance Committee, and also with the mentorship of Paulo Kakinoff, who will continue to contribute with his knowledge, now as a Director”, declared Constantino Júnior, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GOL.
