
A brand new big in aviation providers is born after the merger of Menzies Aviation and NAS

Following the confirmation last week of Agility’s purchase of Menzies Aviation in a GBP 763 million (~USD 932 million) transaction, both companies announced the combination of the Menzies and National Aviation Services (NAS, subsidiary of Agility) structures. ), to form the largest aviation services company in the world in terms of presence in the countries and the second in number of airports served.
In 2021, Menzies and NAS revenue exceeded $1.5 billion. The joint operation adds about 35,000 employees at 254 airports in 58 countries that annually service more than 600,000 aircraft, handle 2 million tons of cargo and carry out more than 2.5 million refueling operations, according to the website Aviacionline.
“Menzies and NAS will create the world leader in aviation services. We will have the scale and resources to expand and grow as the industry recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. Commercial aviation is a key driver of global economic growth and our customers need partners they can count on as flight volumes recover.”said Hassan El-Houry, newly appointed president of the combined company, who previously held the position of CEO of NAS.
For his part, Philipp Joeinig, who will continue to be the CEO of Menzies Aviation, said that “Agility’s support provides us with the resources we need to deliver innovative solutions to growing and forward-thinking customers, and to develop our talent, technology and sustainability, critical factors for our future success. Menzies’ customers include Air Canada, Air China, Air France-KLM, America Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, EasyJet, Emirates, Ethiopian, FlyDubai, Frontier Airlines, IAG, Jazeera, Qantas Group, Qatar Airways, Southwest, Turkish, United Airlines, WestJet and Wizz Air. In Latin America and the Caribbean they serve Avianca, Aeroméxico and Ultra Air, among other companies.
